Weezer 2017 Live

Image
Another band I have recently seen that is in my Top 3 list of favorite bands is non other than Weezer. This band has been the forefront to many of my guitar crazed, easy to learn, guitar antics for the last 13 years. They somehow manage to sound simplistic and yet have a a level of difficulty in their music that is so well hidden, it makes them a poprock-band. I have heard rave reviews about their live performances prior to seeing them, but brushed it off as noobie concert goers seeing some big band for the first time and just being awestruck. I was wrong. Weezer somehow has this aura to their performance that just envelopes you and takes you for a ride down memory lane. Your standing at the show and the next moment your in the back seat of your moms mercury mini-van driving to peewee football practice singing along to the Blue Album because it's the only thing that distracts you from going to your inevitable doom of being squashed by kids a foot taller than you. Then Brian Bel...

Tool Live Show 2016

Image
Tool has been a very influential band over the last 20 years not only for bands, but aspiring artists. With a different approach to old concepts, their music holds a very mysterious independence to it that many other bands to to capture, but fall short with. Starting out as a heavy early 1990's metal band, they started to venture more into an Art Rock style that seems to have stuck around and made them who they are today as a band. While an album as not been released by them in 11 years, their live shows are a constant reminder that they are around and here to stay for a while longer. The show I will be covering is from their tour in 2016. They hadn't toured in a couple years and it was a very hot subject not only among Tool fans, but the music scene in general. Tool is greatly known for their visual shows, and earlier on, Maynard James Keenan's (Lead Singer) Jim Morrison type "Shaman Dance" antics. This show brought screen effects and laser/lighting effects a...

Chon Live Review

Image
Chon is a really unique band. Not in their style, but in their execution of their musical precision. They have developed a cult following that holds them in high regards. Their style is very bubbly but tends to venture into a harder tone every so often. With their live music, it is nearly on par with their studio recordings. Aside from a few synthesized errors during live performance, their instrumental precision is amazing. This recording happens to be done by Audiotree back in 2015. And with no surprise, Chon did perform one of their more famous songs "Bubble Dream." This song is filled with twists and turns and tempo changes that many other bands have a hard time fully capturing. Bubble Dream is one of their live songs that have nearly no difference from their studio recording. The guitarists are always on timing which is the most important aspect of this almost "Tech-Metal/Rock" band. Timing and tone are everything and they capture it very well. I highly ...

Remo Drive | Out of Studio Review

Image
Hi, This is Vincent and today I will be reviewing Remo Drive's live session performed at Audiotree. This band has just recently taken to the limelight as their debut album "Greatest Hits" was recently released and caught much attention. And for good reason. Their emo punk style combined with a pop vibe has sparked a revival in this sad, self loathing style of music. While their lyrics are mellow and had a depressed attitude to them, the beat and musical compilation contradicts the message. This video by Audiotree shows you this band at their rawest form. I want to really focus on one song that ties this whole performance together. It's the last song played in this performance called "Yer Killin' Me" This happens to be their most popular song that received the most attention from critics. I'll start off by saying that their live performance is MUCH better than their studio recorded version. This goes for all their songs. Whoever mixed their ban...
